Aloha, everyone. Sorry for being MIA for a while. I am still alive, but have been busy with teaching. I have been teaching a course called "Language in Hawaii and the Pacific" at a university since 2010, and now I am teaching it this summer It is a summer course = every day course = every day preparation and every day grading. But I love it It is such a great thing to share my knowledge and experience about languages in the Pacific

One of the exciting things this summer is...I am teaching the Kove language, as part of my curriculum I show a lot of language data and have students analyze its sounds, grammar etc...I didn't expect to have such a day

I have only one more week. Wish me luck

How difficult !

The question in your handout is extremely difficult. I cannot find relation between each word in Kove and English "logically" by all means.
What is the answer ?

Re: How difficult !

I am sorry that the quality of the picture is not good, but thanks for trying it!!! For example, "I" is "Yau" and "nga" because both example 2 and 7 contain "I", and their shared words are "Yau" and "nga". It is like a puzzle! You need to go through each sentence, and to figure out one by one!!

Thanks. Fmmm...I see. It's difficult anyway.
